Vicky and Tom / Wedding Photography at The Lobster Shack East Quay in Whitstable

Kent Wedding Galleries

As weddings go it really doesn’t get much better than this for me, fantastic couple, beautiful light and an awesome venue by the sea. Vicky and Tom’s wedding was held at one of my absolute favourite venues, The Lobster Shack in Whitstable. I’ve shot weddings at the Lobster Shack a few times but the light this time was just perfect and meant we were able to get some fantastic portraits out on Whitsatable beach as the sun came down. Vicky and Tom’s relaxed vintage wedding was stunning and they were just a joy to work with. You can see the whole behind the scenes story on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings who recently featured Vicky and Tom’s day. There are many things I love about my job but nothing beats receiving an e-mail like this one

“They arrived today – thank you so much!

Have to say I was a little nervous opening them as photos are never my favourite thing…but they’re fabulous.  I have had a little cry looking at them, in a good way! You’ve captured the day perfectly and we are so happy. You put us completely at ease on the day, we couldn’t have imagined feeling so comfortable.  Your friendly relaxed style, made us feel good and you can see how happy we are in the pictures.  We love seeing all our friends enjoying the day just as much we did.

Thank you!
Vix x”

Simon and Laura / Kent Wedding Photography at Mount Ephraim Gardens
It's a funny thing but it really doesn't matter how many weddings I photograph I always feel incredibly nervous whilst waiting to hear what the couple think of their wedding photos, it's always been that way. My wife Claire recognizes it in me every time. I kind of go a bit quiet, keep checking my e-mails every 5 minutes, "stop worrying, it'll be fine, they'll love them" she says to me, but until I hear it from the couple themselves I really can't help myself. Having spoke to other wedding photographers it's a trait I think many of us share and to a degree it's a good thing, it stops me being complacent, it drives me to push myself on and giv ...

The Bell Inn in Ticehurst Wedding Photography / Tors and James Wedding Preview
So this happened, and yes it was epic! If I was some kind of mad Frankenstein like scientist and was somehow able to create my perfect couple in my secret lab, well Tors and James (a.k.a Jambon) would be that couple. The full magnificence of their wedding at The Bell Inn in Ticehurst will be up on the blog real soon but until then here's a taste of what was just a great day.
