Maria and John / Preview

Kent Wedding Galleries

I was nervous before this wedding.

Maria is my wife Claire’s best friend, they have been best friends since they were 11 years old and I’m proud to call her my friend too. Friends can come and go but if you’re lucky you get to have a person like Maria in your life.  Recently Claire lost her brother Ian.  Suddenly and without warning he was gone. It was a huge shock to all of us and we still miss him desperately. All of Claire’s friends were amazing but at the time Maria was thousands of miles away living and working in Singapore. When she heard what had happened she booked the first flight back home. She didn’t tell us she was going to do it, she didn’t ask us if she should come back, she just booked a ticket and got on a plane home to try and help her friend. That kind of friendship just blew me away, still blows me away now when I think about it. I can honestly say I’ve never been so thankful to see someone as I was Maria when she walked in to our front room that day and I know Claire felt exactly the same way. Nothing could have taken away the pain that she was feeling at that time but Maria coming home made the person I love feel just a tiny bit better and I will always be more grateful to her for that than she could ever know.

So, as I said, I was nervous before this wedding, nervous because more than anything I wanted to say thank you to her for helping Claire and me at the time when we needed it most. Here are a few from Maria and John’s wedding, it was an amazing day. They are perfect for each other and we couldn’t be happier for them both. Oh, and Claire’s the maid of honour in the purple dress.

I was touched by your story. Maria and Claire are like sisters already so I think I'd be nervous if I get to shoot her wedding too. But the photos are stunning, she must be proud and thankful of you. :)

Andy and Tony / Kent Wedding Photography at Northbrook Park
There are certain couples who's weddings I get to capture who just seem to generate such love and affection from the people around them. Andy and Tony are one of those couples. I first met these guys a few years ago now on Andy's brothers stag doo no less. It was a hazy, heady weekend shall we say so my memories are "patchy" but I do remember that feeling even then, that sense that these guys are just right for each other, just a great couple to be around. One of the things I love most about photographing a wedding day is being able witness those moments when people are just interacting, talking, hugging, crying. Andy's and Tony's wedding day ...

My 2012
At the beginning of 2012 I wrote here about how I came to be photographing peoples wedding day. It was quite personal, I wanted it to be truthful and honest, I wanted the people who might ask me to be a part of their wedding to understand a little bit about what pushes me to do what I do. It seems like a lifetime ago now but still, when I read it back, it feels truthful to me.  As I was writing I was really only just starting along this path and I had absolutely no clue of what an amazing year it was going to be. When all is said and done it was the year I finally got the chance to do the thing I love to do. It would never have been possible ...

Michele and Lance / Wedding Photography at Salutation House in Sandwich
Michele and Lance got married on a stunning day at Salutation House in Sandwich. I think this may have just become my favourite wedding venue, a beautiful house surrounded by amazing gardens which was just perfect for their intimate wedding. Michele and Lance made me feel so welcome that I can honestly say I felt more like a guest with a camera than the photographer (well, a few cameras!). It's always fantastic to shoot in such incredible places and the chance to work with such wonderful people as Michele and Lance, it's the reason why I love this job so much. If you would like a bit more information on pricing and the wedding photograph ...
